I once had it that Kodi, combined with MadVR, would always in be in HDR but actually switch HDR off in windows for SDR content and remain in HDR for everything else.. I literally have no idea how I managed that.. Now on my NUC HTPC, Kodi (without MadVR) use to start in SDR and switch to HDR on its own for any HDR content.. Now its forever in HDR..
